According to Bleeding Cool, Disney and Marvel Studios are allegedly developing a Secret Invasion television show fro Disney+. The secret Invasion series will be based on the comic book event from writer Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu and will reportedly tie into the Captain Marvel movies.
Marvel and Disney have to yet to confirm the news, however, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased back in March a Secret Invasion plot could be a possibility.
“Just like not all humans are bad, and not all humans are good, I think Skrulls probably have a variety of moralities amongst them,” Feige told ComicBook.com. “When they can do what they can do, it probably gets very tempting. So, it’s fun to have introduced this concept and see where it goes.”
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Marvel and Disney do a crossover event of their own following the success of The CW’s Arrowverse crossovers miniseries. Marvel Comics published “Secret Invasion” crossover storyline from April through December 2008
The story involves a subversive, long-term invasion of Earth by the Skrulls, a group of alien shapeshifters who have secretly replaced many superheroes in the Marvel Universe with impostors over a period of years, prior to the overt invasion. Marvel’s promotional tagline for the event was “Who do you trust?”
