Waltz Disney consumer chairman ,Kevin Mayer, confirmed at Disney’s investor presentation for Disney+ on Friday that a High School Musical TV show is coming to Disney+. The 10-episode will premiere when the streaming service launches on November 12.
High School Musical was written by Peter Barsocchini and directed by Kenny Ortega. The first film was release on January 20, 2006, . The film sequels, High School Musical 2 was released in 2007 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year in 2008. The franchise is the most commercially successful Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced.
Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Olivia Rodrigo as Nini, Sofia Wylie as Gina, Matt Cornett as E.J.,Dara Reneé as Kourtney,Julia Lester as Ashly,Frankie A. Rodriguez as Carlos, Larry Saperstein as Big Red, and finally Kate Reinders as Miss Jenn and Mark St. Cyr as Mr. Mazzara, the drama teacher and S.T.E.M. teacher respectively.
The 10-episode series is set to premiere in late 2019 on Disney+, The Walt Disney Company’s upcoming streaming service.
