Darkseid was rumored to make his introduction in the Justice League movie after he was in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, but that changed when Joss Wheldon replace Zack Snyder as director.
Darkseid was created by writer-artist Jack Kirby. He made his first appearance as a cameo in Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #134 before making his full first debut in Forever People #1 (February 1971).
Darkseid is the ruler of the planet Apokolips. His ultimate goal is to conquer the universe and eliminate all free will and sentient beings.
DuVernay will direct and co-write New Gods with Tom King (Batman,Mister Miracle). The film has no release date yet.
Billions of years ago, a cataclysm split the planet Urgrund in two, forming the twin planets of New Genesis, a sunlit utopia, and Apokolips, an industrialized wasteland. Their populations became known as the New Gods, the immortal denizens of the cosmos who existed outside the constraints of earthly time and space.
