When it was announced that Christian Bale was in talks with Marvel Studios to join the cast in Thor: Love and Thunder in an undisclosed role reports suggested that one character he could be playing was Beta Ray Bill. Now Daniel RPK, who’s known for releasing scoops for upcoming DC and Marvel projects as teased that Bale may actually be playing the alien God of Thunder.

In the comics, the alien warrior wields a war hammer called Stormbreaker. Beta Ray was granted the weapon after a rivalry with Thor for the possession of Mjolnir after it was revealed that he could wield Thor’s hammer. Created to be the strongest weapon in Asgard’s history. During Avenger Infinity War, it was revealed that Stormbreaker was the only weapon capable of killing Thanos. Beta Ray Bill, an alien of the Korbinite race, was created by Walt Simonson as a new concept for the title Thor. The character made his debut in The Mighty Thor #337 published in November 1983.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster take on the role of Thor and become Mighty Thor, the Goddess of Thunder. Natalie Portman returning to portray the character in the movie and possibly in future Marvel Cinematic Universe’s films. Jane Foster was introduced as the new Thor in the fourth volume of Thor by Jason Aaron and artist Russell Dauterman in October 2014, after the God of Thunder was no longer able to wield Mjolnir. Jane Foster concluded her role as Thor in March’s Mighty Thor #705.
Thor: Love and Thunder star Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Taika Waititi as Korg. Waititi directing the film with a screenplay he wrote. The film is set to begin production in August.
Thor: Love and Thunder hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
