Looks like the Chainsaw Man manga series doesn’t need the anime series to bring in numbers. Weekly Shōnen Jump revealed in the manga series’ Vol.11 that Chainsaw Man officially has over 11 million copies in circulation. This is quite impressive for a series with no anime television adaptation yet, considering that the manga had only over 5 million copies in circulation in December. Chainsaw Man was the fifth best-selling manga series in the first half of 2021. The manga sold over 4 million copies between November 2020 and May 2021.
Fujimoto debuted the series in the first 2019 issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, published on December 3, 2018. Fujimoto began work on Chainsaw man after his manga series Fire Punch ended in January 2018. Chainsaw Man manga ended in December 2020.
MAPPA is currently developing an anime television series based on the manga series. The anime studio also released the first trailer for Chainsaw Man anime, but it has no release date yet.
