Castlevania sequel to center around Sypha and Trevor’s son.

The sequel will likely be based on Castlevania: Rondo of Blood game, released exclusively in Japan in 1993.

Back in April, we reported that Castlevania will receive a brand-new spinoff show which will feature an entirely new cast of characters. As part of Geek Week, the animated Castlevania executive producer Kevin Kolde, director Sam Deats, and assistant director Adam Deats announced that the new series will center around Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. Ritcher Belmont is the son of Sypha and Trevor. It was revealed that the series will be set in France during the French Revolution in 1792.

Richter and Maria are the main character in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood game released exclusively in Japan in 1993. The game is a sequel of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, was released worldwide in 1997. Richter and Maria also appeared in Symphony of the Night. However, the streaming service did not reveal if the animated series will be based on Rondo of Blood or Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

The new Castlevania animated series has not released date yet.
