The Boondocks New Series Coming 2020


Sony Pictures Animation announced on Wednesday that The Boondocks will receive a new series slated to be released in 2020. The series will be a reimagination of The Boondocks series. Sony Pictures Television will produce with creator Aaron McGruder.

The Boondocks chronicle the battles of the Freeman family against the evil local government tyrant Uncle Ruckus, who rules fictional Woodcrest County Maryland, with an iron fist.

The Boondocks animated series ran from on November 6, 2005, to  June 23, 2014, for four seasons. The series featured the voice of Regina King, John Witherspoon, Cedric Yarbrough, Gary Anthony Williams
Jill Talley and Gabby Soleil.

Sony produced every Boondocks season except the fourth which was also produced without any involvement from McGruder.
