Warner Bros. unveiled on Wednesday the first look at the new Looney Tunes animated short series. The shorts will debut at the Annecy International Animation Festival on Monday.
The new Looney Tunes short is executive produced by Peter Browngardt, with Alex Kirwan serving as a supervising director. The show’s animators allegedly crafted the jokes and gags while creating the episode and creating scenarios.
“I feel like that is what made the classic Looney Tunes so fantastic,” Browngardt told Variety. “It wasn’t screenwriters. They were thinking completely visual all the time. I feel like the best cartoon animation comes from that process.”
Warner Bros. already has more than 20 finished shorts, and planning on increasing it to 200-plus or 1,000 total minutes of “Looney Tunes Cartoons.”
The original Looney Tunes animated short films ran from 1930 to 1969.
