Netflix has released the trailer for Blood of Zeus, the streaming service new animated series. The series set in the world of Greek mythology was first announced as “Gods & Heroes”.
“In Gods & Heroes we wanted to tell a wholly original story set in the beloved world of Greek mythology,” creators Vlas and Charley Parlapanides said in an official statement. “We are thankful for such an amazing cast and for such great creative partners at Netflix and Powerhouse Animation, who continue to push the envelope and expand the anime genre in a manner we had only dreamed of.”
The anime show will feature the voice of Jason O’Mara (the DC Animated Universe’s Batman), Iron Fist’s Jessica Henwick, Mamie Gummer (Robot Chicken, True Detective), and Chris Diamantopoulos (Batman Unlimited).
A commoner living in ancient Greece, Heron discovers his true heritage as a son of Zeus, and his purpose: to save the world from a demonic army.
“Blood of Zeus,” created by Powerhouse Animation Studios, will premiere October 27 on Netflix.
