Mahershala Ali is set to portray Blade in the Marvel Studio‘s live-action reboot. While fans are ecstatic to see the MCU take on the character, the actor shared concept art of how the character will look in the reboot. The artwork was created by @Maxbeechcreative.
At the moment it’s not sure if the reboot will be a television series or a big-screen adaptation, but Kevin Feige previously revealed that the Blade reboot won’t be part of Phase 4 of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Created by writer Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan, Blade made his debut as a supporting character in The Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973). Blade, later on, received a 56-page solo story in the black-and-white showcase magazine Marvel Preview #3 (Sept. 1975).
Wesley Snipes played the character in 1998’s Blade film, Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004). Sticky Fingaz then portrayed the character in the 2006 television series Blade.
