Marvel Studio released on Tuesday the first footage for the Black Widow movie. The full-length version of the trailer was screened in August at Disney’s D23 fan convention. In addition, Marvel also unveiled the film’s second poster.
According to what the trailer has revealed, Black Widow will be a sequel rather than a prequel movie like previously revealed. The film will finally tell fans what happened in Budapest before the events of the first Avengers movie. The trailer also gives a new look at Natasha Romanoff’s new suit, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, and then Taskmaster.
The Black Widow solo movie will be directed by Cate Shortland from a script penned by Jac Schaeffer. The film will launch phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Scarlett Johansson will reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff, with Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, and O-T Fagbenle also starring in the movie.
Created by Stan Lee, Don Rico, and Don Heck, Black Widow (Natalia Alianovna “Natasha” Romanova, also known as Natasha Romanoff) made her first appeared in Tales of Suspense No. 52 (April 1964) comic book published by Marvel Comics.
Scarlett Johansson portrayed the character in Marvel Cinematic Universe’ Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame.
Black Widow hits theaters in May 2020.
