Early this year Writer and director Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) revealed at the Comic-Con International in San Diego’s Legion panel, that a Doctor Doom movie was in development at Fox. Now rumor suggesting that the villain will make his debut in Black Panther 2.
Murphy Multiverse is reporting that Doctor Doom will be the main villain in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 2. Murphy said the news is not yet a “hot scoops”, however, a source tells him that the Black Panther sequel will see Victor Von Doom trying to expanding his empire by “conquering parts of Africa and, ultimately, come into conflict with the nation of Wakanda and the Black Panther“.
If rumors are true, Doctor Doom will be the first character from the X-Men and Fantastic Four universe to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Disney’s acquisition of Fox.
Doctor “Victor Von” Doom was created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. The fictional character made his first debut in Marvel Comics’ The Fantastic Four #5 in 1962. Doctor Doom was portrayed by Julian McMahon in 2005’s Fantastic Four and Toby Kebbell in the 2015 reboot by the same name.
Marvel Studios announced at D23 2019 that Ryan Coogler will return to direct Black Panther 2. The sequel will arrive in cinemas on May 6, 2022. Chadwick Boseman and Letitia Wright are both expected to reprise their roles.
