It has been revealed that Mob Psycho 100 will be receiving an entirely new original video anime. Tachikawa Yuzuru will direct the OVA at Studio Bones, with the manga creator, ONE, credited with the original story. The anime is scheduled to first premiere at a special event held July 7th.
ONE began publishing Mob Psycho 100 on Ura Sunday in 2012, before debuting the manga on Shogakukan’s mobile app MangaONE in 2014. A spin-off manga series titled REIGEN was serialized in the MangaONE mobile app from March 19, 2018, to February 19, 2019.
The manga series received an anime TV show adaptation by BONES which aired between July and September 2016. A live-action series adaptation of the series on premiered on Netflix in January 2018. The TV anime second season began airing from January to April 2019.
Shigeo Kageyama is an average middle school boy, nicknamed Mob for lacking a sense of presence. Although he looks like an inconspicuous person, he is in fact a powerful esper. As he grows older, Mob realizes that his psychic powers are strengthening and becoming more dangerous. To avoid his power getting out of control, he constantly lives a life under an emotional shackle. Mob wants to live a normal life just like the others, but a barrage of trouble keeps coming after him. With the suppressed emotions growing inside Mob little by little, his power threatens to break through its limits.
