The TV anime show adaptation of Ranjou Miyake’s remastered edition of Pet manga will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime in Fall 2019 worldwide. The anime series is animated by Geno Studio and Twin Engine) with Takahiro Omori (Durarara!!) as director. Sadayuki Murai (Boogiepop wa Warawanai: Boogiepop Phantom) is in charge of the series composition and Junichi Hayama (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken) in charge of character designs.
The anime cast includes Keisuke Ueda (Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine)as Hiroki, Kishou Taniyama (Bungou Stray Dogs) as Tsukasa, Yuuki Ono (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai) as Satoru, and Yasuyuki Kase (Yozakura Quartet) as Hayashi.
Miyake serialized the psychological thriller manga for five volumes in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits weekly magazine from 2002-2003. Kadokawa published the remastered version of the volumes was published under its Beam Comix imprint between 2009-2010.
There are people who can get into people’s mind and control their memories. This power is used to eradicate mysteries and cases or worse, to assassinate. The potential of the said power is strong enough that it is able to destroy people’s mind, however, can backfire and eat up their own heart. To counter it, chains are used to lock and protect each other’s weak and dangerous heart. From one’s growing fear and disdain, they’re consequently called as a “Pet.”
