We have our first look at Masashi Kishimoto and Akira Okubo ’s dtoryboard for the first pages of their new manga series Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru. The series which is slated for released May 12, was also the cover of Shonen Jump issue 24. Samurai 8 will be released May 12, and will combine Kishimoto love for Japanese culture and clothing, and science-fiction.
Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto reached its conclusion in 2014, the manga author new project Samurai 8: Hachimaruden will launch in May in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. Now both protagonists of Kishimoto’s Naruto and upcoming Samurai 8 series have graced the cover of Jump 24. The new visual also revealing that Samurai 8 Hachimaruden will launch May 13, 2019. The new series will release a special preview in the April 27th issue of the magazine.
Mirei Miyamoto and Masashi Kishimoto original light novel “Naruto Shinden” (Naruto: Naruto New Story) is also being adapated into a new TV anime series adaptation. The novel began publication with Konoha Shinden: Steam Ninja Scrolls in 2016, but was not formalised until it was relaunched from May to July 2018, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Shueisha Jump jBooks.
The novel was meant to be bridge between Naruto and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series but shifted the focus to Naruto and his companions’ learning to become parents, and their relationships with their children. Naruto the manga ended its 15 year run back in 2014. The series was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in 1999 till 2014. The TV anime show adaptation ended March 23, 2017 with Naruto Shippūden anime’s 500th episode – the 720th episode in the Naruto anime franchise. The first Naruto TV series aired back in October 2002 and ran to 2007. Later that same year, the current series Naruto Shippūden was launched.
