The Rising of The Shield Hero visual teases an all out battle

The Rising of The Shield Hero anime final episode saw our heroes being introduced to the heroes of the dimension as both sides are determined to kill the others in order to save their world. And now the anime series second season key visual and promotional have teased a war is on its way. The trailer and key visual were both released by the series staff who also has announced that The Rising of The Shield Hero will premiere in 2021.

Kinema Citrus and DR MOVIE are animating the series with Masato Jinbo directing. Jinbo replacing the series season one director, Takao Abo. Keigo Koyanagi will write series and Masahiro Suwa will design characters. Kevin Penkin is returning to compose the music.

Yusagi originally published The Rising of the Shield Hero “Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari” light novel as a web novel in Shōsetsuka ni Narō novel site, before being adapted into a manga series by Aiya Kyū at Media Factory with illustrations by Seira Minami.

The The Rising of The Shield Hero anime series first season aired on January 9 for 25 episodes. Kinema Citrus produced the show’s animation and Takao Abo (Norn9) served the director. Keigo Koyanagi composed the anime series and Masahiro Suwa designed the characters based on Seira Minami’s original character designs. Crunchyroll co-produced the show with Kadokawa.

Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!
