Shaman King anime new trailer has revealed the series’ new and returning cast members. Yōko Hikasa will voice the protagonist Yoh Asakura. The returning cast from the 2001 anime series includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Amidamaru, Megumi Hayashibara as Anna Kyōyama, and Minami Takayama as Hao Asakura. Additionally, the anime website also unveiled a new poster.
Bridge is the studio behind series animation with Joji Furuta serving as the anime director. Shoji Yonemura is writing the series scripts and Satohiko Sano is the character designer. Yuki Hayashi is composing the music, with King Record as the music producer. Masafumi Mima is the audio director.
Written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump between June 1998 and August 2004. A series of short stories titled Shaman King 0 was published in Shueisha’s Jump X magazine in November 2011, a sequel titled Shaman King Flowers ran from 2012 to 2014. A sequel of the original Shaman King manga series titled Shaman King The Super Star debuted in Shonen Magazine Edge magazine in May 2018.
The first anime series aired for 64 episodes from July 2001 to September 2002. The manga has spawned video games, a trading card game, and many types of merchandise.
