The official YouTube channel and Twitter for the Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The MOVIE unveiled a teaser video and poster for the anime movie, respectively. The film is the first part of the two-part anime film project produced by Toei Animation.

The two-part film project will cover the “Dead Moon” arc the original manga and will take the place of Sailor Moon Crystal anime series fourth season. It’s the franchise’s first film to be screened in Japanese theatre in 25 years.

Studio DEEN and Toei Animation are animating and Chiaki Kon (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal: Season III) directed both anime film. In addition, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure TV anime all five parts, Land of the Lustrous, PriPara) will write the series scripts under original manga creator Naoko Takeuchi supervision, and Sailor Moon anime series, Kazuko Tadano, will design the characters. Takeuchi is also credited with the original work.

The anime film stars Kotono Mitsuishi as Usagi Tsukino / Sailor Moon, Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno / Sailor Mercury, Rina Satou as Rei Hino / Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino / Sailor Jupiter, Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino / Sailor Venus, Misato Fukuen as Chibi-Usa / Sailor Chibi Moon. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online’s Kirito, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma’s Sōma, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s Inosuke) will play Pegasus / Helios in the movie.

Pretty Guardians Sailor Moon Eternal The MOVIE will open in Japan on September 11.
