Shueisha announced on their Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s 40th issue that Black Clover will enter an original story arc that will focus on two original characters. The anime-original story will feature people who hate Devils and hope that they perish. Himika Akaneya will voice Dazuu Tayak and Sayaka Kinoshita will voice Bow Nokde.
The series new ending theme “A Walk,” is by Gakuto Kajiwara, the voice of Asta in the anime. The song also marks Kajiwara’s debut as a singer. Korean group TOMORROW X TOGETHER are performing the current opening theme song “Eien ni Hikare” (Everlasting Shine).
The series began airing in Japan in October 2017. The show is being directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Yatterman Night, Muromi-san, Long Riders!). Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Level E, Blue Drop) is the character designer and Kumiko Tokunaga (2nd season of Kingdom) is the sub-character designer.
Tabata launched Black Clover (Burakku Kurōbā) manga series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in Japan in February 2015. Viz Media is publishing manga in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital anthology magazine in North America. An original video animation produced by Xebec had its first trailer released on November 27, 2016.
Black Clover follows a young boy named Asta, seemingly born without any magic power, something that is unknown in the world he lives in. With his ambition, newfound abilities, and friends, he aims to be the Wizard king.
