Tokyo Ghoul manga creator Sui Ishida drew an illustration to commemorate the release of the manga series live-action adaptation second movie Tokyo Ghoul 2. The illustration features the film main cast; Masataka Kubota as Kaneki and Maika Yamamoto who replaced Fumika Shimizu as Tōka Kirishima, and Shota Matsuda who will join the cast as Shū Tsukiyama. The illustration will be a limited edition poster-size movie ticket, and it will be sold online on June 11th.
Tokyo Ghoul S stars Masataka Kubota as Kaneki, Maika Yamamoto as Tōka, Shunya Shiraishi as Nishiki Nishio, Kai Ogasawara as Hideyoshi “Hide” Nagachika, Minosukr Bando as Uta, Hiyori Sakurada as Hinami Fueguchi, Nobuyuki Suzuki as Kōtarō Amon and South Korean actress and singer Jiyoung as Helter Skelter bar patron Itori.
Ishida first published Tokyo Ghoul in Weekly Young Jump in 2011 and was adapted into an anime series in 2014. Tokyo Ghoul: re, the sequel to the manga series was published in Weekly Shonen Jump back in October 2014. The sequel has currently 12 volumes in print.
The first anime television series adaptation by studio Pierrot aired between July 4, 2014, and September 19, 2014. The second season, Tokyo Ghoul √A (Tokyo Ghoul Root A), aired between January 9, 2015, and March 27, 2015. The anime adaptation season 3 was based on the sequel manga Tokyo Ghoul: re. The two-part anime aired from April 3, 2018, and concluded on December 25, 2018. The first live-action film based on the manga was released in Japan on July 29, 2017
