My Hero Academia the Movie -Heroes: Rising has released two new teasers titled “1-Nen A-Gumi Zenin Shūketsu” (All of Class 1-A, Assemble)/”Eiyū 1-Nen A-Gumi Plus Ultra” (Heroes of 1-A Plus Ultra) and “Saikyō no Villain” (The Worst Villain)/”Saikyō no Villain Nine” (The Worst Villain Nine).

BONES is animating the movie with Kenji Nagasaki serving as director. Yosuke Kuroda returning to write the script. Yoshihiko Umakoshi will be in charge of character designs. The anime film will include a plot element of the final battle Kōhei Horikoshi wanted to use for the manga. In addition, the anime movie will include the debut of the new villain called Nine. The villain was featured during a brief mosaic in the manga series Chapter 222. However, he never made an official appearance.

Kōhei Horikoshi debuted My Hero Academia (Boku no Hīrō Akademia) manga series in Weekly Shōnen Jump in July 2014. The first season of the anime television series adaptation aired from April 3 to June 26, 2016. The second season aired from April 1 to September 30, 2017. The manga series received a spinoff manga series titled Vilante – My Hero Academia: Illegals about quirk holders who fight crime without the hero association approval. The spinoff is by Furuhashi and Court Betten was launched in Shonen Jump GIGA in August 2016, before moving to the Shonen Jump+ App.

The manga was adapted into an anime television series by Bones. Its first season aired in Japan from April 3 to June 26, 2016, followed by a second season from April 1 to September 30, 2017, then a third season from April 7 to September 29, 2018, and an animated film titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released on August 3 of that year. The anime series season 4 will premiere on October 12, 2019.

A video game based on the anime, My Hero Academia: Battle for All, was released in Japan on May 19, 2016, for the Nintendo 3DS. The second video game, titled My Hero One’s Justice, was released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on October 26, 2018.
