It was revealed that Disney eyeing Jon Favreau, Gore Verbinski, or the Russo Brothers to helmet the live-action remake of 1997’s animated film, Hercules. Now looks Disney made their pick. The Avengers: Endgame director’s Instagram account recently posted a picture of Pain and Panic from Hercules captioned, “A recent pic of me and my bro….”

However, THR reports that both brothers will produce the movie under their AGBO banner and not directed. Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Wonder Woman 1984, Zombieland: Double Tap) will write the screenplay for Hercules. THR also says that the film is still in the early stage of development.

Directed by Ron Clements and John Muske, Hercules was released on June 13, 1997, earning $252.7 million in box office worldwide. The film prequel Hercules: Zero to Hero was released in 1999 and served as the pilot to Hercules: The Animated Series.
