Mexican media are reporting that Luis Alfonso Mendoza, the Latin Spanish voice of Gohan on Dragon Ball, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, was murdered in the Mexico City neighborhood of Portales Norte on Saturday afternoon.
Mendoza, his wife, Lourdes Adame, and brother-in-law were apparently killed during a dispute with a tenant who was renting studio space the voice actor. The attacker is in critical condition after he subsequently shot himself in the head in a suicide attempt.
Mendoza has been voicing since 1996. He also voiced Count Duckula, Leonardo on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Edward Platypus on Camp Lazlo. He provided the voice of Daniel LaRusso in The Karate Kid movies, Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Joey Tribbiani on Friends, and Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory. He was 55 years old.
