DanMachi Season 3 has been pushed back from its previous release date. The anime Website announced Saturday morning that Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka Season 3(Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? III) has been postponed to October 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19. DanMachi Season 3 was slated to premiere in July 2020.

J.C. Staff is animating and Hideki Tachibana is the anime series director. In addition, Hideki Shirane will write the series scripts, and Shigeki Kimoto will design the characters. Keiji Inai will compose the music. EGG FIRM and SB Creative Corp are producing the show.

Voice actress and singer, Yuka Iguchi, will be returning once again to perform the opening theme song for DanMachi Season 3 of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?. Iguchi previously performed the opening song for the anime series’ second season and for “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion” anime film. She also voiced voicing Hitachi Chigusa of the Takemikazuchi Familia, in DanMachi first and second season.

Iguchi is also the original voice cast for Index in A Certain Magical Index, Sherry Blendy, Sherria Blendy in Fairy Tail, Tsukihi Araragi in Monogatari, Maria Takayama in Haganai, Tamaki Irie in Majestic To Love-Ru DarknessPrince, Miku Kohinata in Symphogear, Mea Kurosaki in , Norie Okazaki in Tamayura, Oberus/Obero in Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Hinata Miyake in A Place Further than the Universe, and currently voicing Patricia Pearl in P.A.Works’ original anime television series, Fairy Gone. She also voiced video characters including Tsurugi Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven (2015), Lily in Granblue Fantasy (2014), and IJN Kawakaze In Azur Lane (2018).

The first DanManchi anime series adaptation produced by J.C.Staff ran from April 4 to June 27, 2015. An OVA was released on December 7, 2016. A new anime season adaptation for Ōmori and Kiyotaka Haimura’s Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria spinoff light novel series premiered in April 2017 and an original anime film adaptation titled “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion” premiered in February 15, 2019. The second season titled Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka Familia Myth II, premiere in July 2019. Hideki Tachibana directed the 2nd season instead of Yoshiki Yamakawa who helmeted the series first season. J.C. Staff produced the anime series with a script by Hideki Shirane and character designs by Shigeki Kimoto.

Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda launched the light novel under SB Creative’s GA Bunko imprint January 2013. The light nov has received two manga adaptations. The first is written by Fujino Ōmori and Illustrated by Kunieda, and was published on August 2, 2013 – present. The 2nd manga is Masaya Takamura and was published from August 14, 2014 – present.

The story follows the exploits of Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old solo adventurer under the goddess Hestia. As the only member of the Hestia Familia, he works hard every day in the dungeon to make ends meet while seeking to improve himself. He looks up to Ais Wallenstein, a famous and powerful swordswoman who once saved his life, and with whom he fell in love. He is unaware that several other girls, deities and mortals alike, also develop affections towards him; most notably Hestia herself, as he also gains allies and improves himself with each new challenge he faces.
