The stuff for the new TV anime series adaptation of Hiroaki Samura’s “Blade of the Immortal” revealed on Thursday that the new series will be titled “Mugen no Jūnin -Immortal,” and will be a a “complete anime adaptation”.
The first anime show produced by Bee Train and Production I.G ran from July 14, 2008 – December 29, 2008. More details to be announced.
Samura published the manga in Monthly Afternoon from 1993 to 2012. The series was adapted into a novel “Blade of the Immortal: Legend of the Sword Demon,” written by Junichi Ohsako and illustrated by Samura himself. A live action film adaptation was released in 2017.
The official sequel manga Mugen no Jūnin – Bakumatsu no Shō (Blade of the Immortal – Bakumatsu Arc) will begin serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine July issue. The sequel will written by Kenji Takigawa and illustrated by Ryū Suenobu. Samura also contributed.
